The Design process

The following is a basic outline of the workflow for most graphic design projects.

Project Planning

Determine type and size of printed piece: Business Cards, Letterhead, Business Stationery, Brochures, Newsletters, Ad Layouts, Book pages and / or Book Covers, Mailers, Signs, Banners, etc.

Target Market: Knowing who your potential customers are enables us to implement different stylings that appeal to various demographics. Your printed materials should draw your potential customers in and lead them to find out more about you, and ultimately, purchase your products / services.
Layout & Style: We will examine ways of using color schemes, layout, sizing, and style in your printed material to clearly communicate your message to your target audience.
Content: pre-existing logos, color schemes, photos, taglines, and copy - deadlines will be set for submission of content to the designer.
Paper stock & Printing Process: spot colors, 4-color process, thermography, lamination, die cuts, etc. Review of paper samples and discussion of press options.

Client Feedback

Scheduled feedback sessions will take place based on number of revisions spec’d in contract. Client feedback and approvals necessary to achieve scheduled project milestones are mandatory to ensure timely advancement of the project. Your input is valued and necessary for project deadlines to be met as scheduled.

Print Job Coordination

Connoisseur Creative provides print coordination services and will coordinate the entire press run including delivery of product to your business.

  • A press check can be scheduled with the printer for off-set press runs.
  • A color proof is recommended for all 4-color jobs.
  • Once Connoisseur Creative has approved the final printed product, arrangements will be made for delivery, pickup, or shipment.*

*Client pays all service bureau and / or printing charges directly to the vendor.

Note: Connoisseur Creative reserves the right to samples of all printed work for portfolio and business promotion purposes.

Proposal & Cost Estimate

Once the project specifications are defined, a cost estimate based on the hourly rate and the number of hours needed to complete the project will be submitted to you for evaluation, usually within three business days. A Statement of Work Proposal will be drawn up outlining the project and will include development details, project schedule and milestones (if needed), payment terms, deliverables dates, the cost estimate, etc. Connoisseur Creative will also obtain press quotes during this phase and coordinate the press run per client request. (See Print Coordination)

The Contract

Connoisseur Creative requires all clients to approve and sign a contract that will protect both Connoisseur Creative and the client, and provide a solid expectation and agreement about creation and delivery of the project. The contract will evolve from the Statement of Work and will be legally binding upon both the client and Connoisseur Creative. Work will not commence until a signed contract has been received by Connoisseur Creative.
